Etegent Technologies Moves Into New Norwood Headquarters

Etegent Technologies Ltd., a Cincinnati- and Dayton-based research and development company, has moved into its new Norwood, Ohio headquarters, taking over the first floor of the American Laundry Building at 5050 Section Ave. For the past six years, Etegent has been based out of the graduate space at the Hamilton County Business Center. After outgrowing its former headquarters, Etegent turned to Sean Mangialardo at Cresa Cincinnati, an international corporate real estate advisory firm, to find a new location to support the growing technology company. Etegent also worked with Cincinnati-based Emersion DESIGN and RJE Business Interiors on the interior design and to develop a functional workplace environment. Currently, Etegent has 25 people based out of its Norwood offices with four full-time staff at its Dayton location.

Etegent Awarded U.S. Navy Phase II SBIR Grant to Extend Waveguide Sensing Technology

Etegent Technologies, Ltd. has been awarded a two year, $750,000 Phase II SBIR grant from the U.S. Navy to extend the capabilities of its waveguide sensing technology developed under a previously awarded U.S. Navy grant. Etegent will enhance the pressure sensors to make reliable temperature measurements, in addition to pressure, within the combustion chambers of turbine engines used in military vehicles, such as airplanes, helicopters and M-1 tanks.

Etegent Sponsors The Citizens Motorcar Company, America’s Packard Museum

Etegent Technologies has entered into a sponsorship agreement with The Citizens Motorcar Company, America’s Packard Museum in Dayton, Ohio. The company’s donation allowed the museum to enhance the marine and aviation engine exhibit, including the construction of new engine stands, signage and lighting. As a result of the sponsorship, the exhibit will now be known as the “Packard Marine and Aircraft Engine Exhibit Sponsored by Etegent Technologies Ltd.”

Etegent Technologies Receives Air Force Contract to Develop Non-Destructive Inspection Data Management System

Etegent Technologies Ltd., formerly SDL, a high-tech, research and development company, has received a $1.2 million enhancement of its Phase II SBIR contract with the Air Force Research Lab at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the Air Force Material Command 809th Maintenance Squadron out of Hill Air Force Base. As part of the contract, Etegent will build and demonstrate at Hill AFB a non-destructive inspection (NDI) data management system designed to improve military aircraft maintenance planning. Etegent developed a prototype of the data management system as a part of a $750,000 Phase II SBIR contract, which was awarded in June 2007.

SDL Becomes Etegent Technologies

Sheet Dynamics, Ltd, a high-tech research and development firm, today announced that it has changed its name to Etegent Technologies, Ltd. The company, which was founded in 1996 by two University of Cincinnati PhD Engineering researchers, specializes in integrated mechatronic systems design and research in physics-based data exploitation in a variety of areas, including nondestructive test data management, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. Among Etegent’s customers are Ball Aerospace, Emerson Electric, General Electric, Procter & Gamble, SAIC, the U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Navy.
