For the past 25 years, Zephyr Photonics has operated as a research and development company for the department of defense and other government organizations. The company was recently acquired by by Torch Hill Investment Partners, a Washington D.C. private equity firm, and is ready to go to market with its patented <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zephyrphotonics.com\/technology.html\">vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser<\/a> (VCSEL) technology.
